This is exciting stuff!
Last week I was chatting with Phill Ryu about MyDreamApp - and I agreed to give away a free license of the current version of the pzizz software and energizer plugin to everyone who votes in the first round!
MyDreamApp is an amazing competition that's being hosted where people have submitted ideas for software applications that they'd love to see turned into reality - and that's what will happen for 3 lucky winners - plus they'll get 15% of all future sales as royalties!
Anyway, if you haven't already got a license and you want a free one, make sure you get to MyDreamApp this week (starting today, 20th September) and vote for your favourite application idea!
If you already have a license, why not tell your friends? You don't get much better than free!
The license you or they receive will be for a full working version of pzizz (1.7) - and it will be good to use on up to three personal computers (Work / Home / Laptop) - plus you can use it on any combination of Mac or Windows machines!
The license will also be upgradable to version 2.0 when we launch in October for a nominal fee - and that, in turn, will qualify you for free upgrades for life!
I absolutely love the concept of MDA - it's superb - and I'm delighted to be involved...
A 20 minute pzizz nap is all it takes to get my creative juices going, so the synergy between pzizz and MDA is perfect!
Happy voting and happy pzizzing!
First. Comment. Ever. (on this blog)
So, care to drop a few hints about what we might expect in the upcoming version?

John
The first of many new updates will include a new User Interface that will hopefully make everything more intuitive...
We're also including "How To" Demo movies for easy reference...
The plugins remain the same, but the way you access them should improve dramatically! :-)

Do the people who used pzizz before this promotion still have to pay for the upgrade? I originally thought all upgrades were free. Either way, I love this software and I am sure I will be getting the upgrade even if I do have to pay for it.

Shawn
Sorry for any misunderstanding - you will not have to pay for the upgrade - you've already paid!
But, the people who get a free license via MyDreamApp will have to pay to upgrade to get on the same level as you...
They will then get free upgrades for life...
We have to cover our development costs somehow (new users) but not at the expense of previous customers... :-)
Hope this helps?
All the best
Edward

Edward,
That sounds great. I'm a happy camper now. Thanks for the clarification.

What about if we got if from MacZot in the MyzteryZOT a while back? Do we get an upgrade for that?

Edward,
One quick suggestion about the blog. At time the comments can be a little difficult to read and distinguish between them. Like if I quickly want to look through and read the new comments it takes me longer to find them cause they tend to blend together. If maybe there could be like a line dividing each comment or alternate gray and white background for each post. Just a suggestion, if you can't do anything to change it thats ok. I just think it may be a little easier on the readers.

You said that you were giving away free licences on mydreamapp, but when i voted and popped my email address, I didn't get an email for it. it's not in spam, inbox, oor any other folder.I voted particularly to get this app, and i am extremely dissapointed that i didn't get the app. What a scam.

@mackid
If you BOUGHT your license - at whatever price - you are eligible to free upgrades for life...
Hope this clears things up? :-)
Happy pzizzing!

@Shawn
Thanks for your very constructive criticism - you are absolutely right!
This layout is proving to be a nightmare!
I'm afraid I started with the TypePad default setting, but I will start looking for someone to help me sort this out as soon as possible!
In the meantime, my apologies - and thanks for your patience! :-)
All the best

@ Joseph E
I'm sorry you didn't receive the email with your license key...
We've given away more than 5,000 licenses so far (normal cost of $200,000) and there are bound to be a few problems... (e.g. perhaps my message got blocked by your ISP?)
Anyway, please email me your details and I'll get it sorted out...
Please feel free to post here (and anywhere else) if I don't live up to my side of the bargain! :-)
All the best
Edward

Edward, this is so thrilling. I found out about Pzizz from Lifehacker.com and just started using the demo today--the fact you're sponsoring and giving away free licenses is really generous of you. I'm looking forward to using Pzizz in greater depth.
Too bad in a way it expires today, I wish more people could've known about it earlier. :)

@Torley
Thanks for your kind comments about pzizz - I'm thrilled with the way things are going...
We've still got a few hours until voting ends - so tell your friends! ;-)
All the best

My only comment for the blog is that you get the pzizz homepage link featured prominently. But other than that, if you can offset your own responses in the comments (some blog systems will let you change the background color of your own comments), that would be helpful as well.

Hi John
Thanks for your feedback...
I absolutely agree with you and I've been talking with a great designer about sorting it out!
Hopefully this will be resolved very soon! (although I may have to switch blogging software! :-( )
All the best

So if I got the Energizer one from MacZot, and the Sleep one from the lifehacker promo, do I get the new version for both, or just the Energizer?
Posted by: mackid | 28 September 2006 at 07:58 AM
@mackid
Don't worry - you'll be able to switch your license keys for the new ones with no charge!
Happy pzizzing!

Hey, thanks for the offer! I've been using Pzizz for a while now and love it. Just bought the "sleep" add-on because I felt guilty not paying for such great software!
Also, I can't wait for some other programs, as mentioned. Looking forward to it!
